Judge Directs Verdict of Acquittal on Felony Charge

A client was arrested and charged with a felony Criminal Damage to Property and two other misdemeanors. The case proceeded to trial. The State failed during the presentation of its evidence to properly show the value of the property alleged to have been damaged. At the close of the State's evidence, the Defendant moved for a directed verdict on the felony count which was granted. However, the client was convicted of the two misdemeanors.
